Our Accomplishments

Need up sharply in 2011:

In 2011, there was a dramatic rise in use of NSC Programs: 

- Food Pantry was up 9%, following an 8% rise in 2010.

- Clients served by our Case Managers was up 7.4% in 2011.

- NSC served well over 600 families, including 535 children & 120 elders.

In 2011, NSC provided:

2,258 separate visits to the Food Pantry - serving 4,820 people

Over 11,000 bags groceries to Natick residents

Over 100,000 pound of food to Natick residents

Over 200 families with housing and heating assistance

Over 400 children, teens, and elders with holiday gifts

125 children and adults with access to preventative dental care

233 backpacks full of back-to-school supplies 

620 people with Thanksgiving food baskets

Over 150 volunteers with a way to make a difference

Brack Career Development Center

The goal of the Joan H. Brack Career Development Center is to provide a wide range of client-centered employment and career development services.  The Brack Center works closely with many area employers to uncover and match potential new candidates with open job opportunities.  We offer these services to clients of all skill levels, including those who are:

  • unemployed
  • entering the job market for the first time
  • considering a career change

The Brack Center offers training programs to all Natick residents in practical areas, such as:

  • labor market research
  • personal marketing
  • communications
  • interview
  • organizational skills

Most importantly, the Brack Center focuses on building confidence and self-esteem during one-on-one coaching sessions designed to help clients identify their unique strengths and aptitudes.

In addition to individual coaching sessions, the Brack Center offers group training workshops devoted to vocational self-assessment and building an accurate sense of self-worth and self-efficacy.

NSC Partners with Achieve Program!

The Natick Service Council is proud to partner with the Natick Public School's highly acclaimed Achieve Program.  The Achieve program, led by Judy D'Antonio, is designed to address the needs of Natick High School students, who, after successfully completing the Life Skills Program, need additional training and guidance to attain the greatest possible levels of independence with their personal, social, and vocational choices.

The program, designed for young adults (18-22) with significant physical and cognitive challenges, is designed to motivate and challenge young adults, while developing lifelong skills and strategies.  The primary areas of focus include: independent living skills, vocational education, training and placement, and community awareness & access.

The Natick Service Council is proud to partner with Judy D’Antonio on this terrific program!

 

Brack Center - Job Openings:

Residential & Commercial Cleaner (Job ID: 102): 

Qualifications:

Physically able to work on commercial and residential cleaning projects

Work in metro west area – transportation is available (Natick based company)

Clean background required (background check conducted)

Legally authorized to work in US

HS diploma or equivalent

Salary:

Residential jobs - $10-15/hour

Commercial jobs - up to $20/hour

Training available & Discounted day care available

 

Lot Attendant (Job ID: 101):  A well known, high volume, local car dealership is looking for a lot attendant to assist with managing their fleet of vehicles.  This is a great opportunity to learn the automobile business from the ground up.

Responsibilities include managing a multi-lot car inventory and assisting service and sales departments with vehicle delivery.

This position requires candidates with the following skill sets:

  • A clean driving record
  • Detail oriented
  • Dependable
  • Good communication skills (customer contact)

This is a full time permanent position paying $10/hour.  Work hours are flexible, typically 8-5pm or 9-6pm.
