Need up sharply in 2011:

In 2011, there continued to be a dramatic rise in use of NSC Programs: 

Food Pantry was up nearly 6%, following an 8% rise in 2010.

Clients served by our Case Managers were up 7.4% in 2011.

In 2011, NSC provided:

2,258 separate visits to the Food Pantry - serving 5,357 people

Over 11,000 bags groceries to Natick residents

Over 100,000 pound of food to Natick residents

Over 200 families with housing and heating assistance

Over 400 children, teens, and elders with holiday gifts

125 children and adults with access to preventative dental care

233 backpacks full of back-to-school supplies 

620 people with Thanksgiving food baskets

Over 150 volunteers with a way to make a difference

Current Staff

Greg Tutuny, Executive Director

Greg Tutuny serves as Executive Director of the Natick Service Council and is responsible for NSC's overall operations. He has 25 years of business and non-profit management experience, including roles in development, enterprise account management, and human services.

Greg lives in Natick with his wife Alison & two daughters and is active in the community serving as Member, Natick Town Meeting; Natick Rotary Club; Friends of Natick Housing Authority; Coach, Natick Youth Sports; and former Member & President of NSC's Board of Directors.

Greg earned a B.A. in Health and Human Services Administration from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

 

Patricia Shaffer, Director of Food Pantry and Volunteers

Patricia Shaffer is the Director of Volunteers and Food Pantry Services at Natick Service Council where she also previously served as a volunteer and board member (2003 – 2006).

Patty has 20 years of high-tech marketing experience and 5 years of experience running non-profit programs.

Ms. Shaffer received both a B.A. and an MBA from Boston College.

 

Kathie Fair-Chandley, Case Manager

Kathie Fair Chandley has a BA in English from the College of the Holy Cross.   Kathie worked in the insurance industry for twenty-six years. 

She volunteered for the Natick Service Council and served on the Board of Directors from 2002-2009 (as Secretary and Vice-President). In 2009, she joined the Natick Service Council staff as a Case Manager and is presently pursuing a Masters degree in Counseling from Framingham State University with expected completion in 2012. 

 

Pamela Sampson, Case Manager

Pamela Sampson earned a BA from Regis College in 1973 and a Master of Science in Human Services from University of Massachusetts in 1987. 

After 20 years in the criminal justice system, she changed careers and returned to graduate school earning a Masters in Social Work from Salem State University in 2007. 

She is a licensed certified social worker and has been with the Natick Service Council since 2008.

 

Amy Van Ermen, Case Manager

Amy Van Ermen holds an M.S.W. from Boston College and a B.S. in Family Studies & Human Development from the University of Arizona.

She served as case management assistant at a medical facility for individuals who are homeless in Washington, D.C, and has individual and group counseling experience at both a skilled nursing facility and a counseling agency.

She currently is Case Manager at the Natick Service Council.

 

Beth Coan, Finance Manager

Beth works as the Finance Manager at the Natick Service Council. She has over 25 years of accounting and management experience. Since 1991, Beth has run a small company, helping both nonprofit and for profit businesses with their finances and accounting. Along with her husband, Larry, she has two children and has lived in Natick since 1987.

Beth received a degree in management from the University of Massachusetts.
