<p>The program, designed for young adults (18-22) with significant physical and cognitive challenges, is designed to motivate and challenge young adults, while developing lifelong skills and strategies. &nbsp;The primary areas of focus include: independent living skills, vocational education, training and placement, and community awareness &amp; access.</p>

<p><strong>Natick, Mass:&nbsp; January 24, 2012</strong> &ndash; The Natick Service Council (NSC), a Natick non-profit organization dedicated to providing basic needs for food, housing, and access to health care, is pleased to announce <em>The Living Well Project,</em> a behavioral health &amp; substance abuse program funded by The MetroWest Health Foundation.&nbsp;</p>
<p><em>The Living Well Project</em> is designed for adult Natick residents who experience behavioral health and/or substance abuse challenges.&nbsp; NSC Case Managers provide behavioral health &amp; substance abuse screening services to clients referred through collaboration with Natick&rsquo;s public, private and civic organizations.&nbsp; For direct behavioral health and substance abuse counseling, programming, and services, NSC Case Manages refers clients to our <em>Living Well Project </em>partner, the South Middlesex Opportunity Council (SMOC).</p>

<p>Customers (donors) purchased a charity box for $10.00&nbsp;and proceeds of the sale will be divided amongst local Food Banks.&nbsp; NSC clients continue to receive boxes that include Stop &amp; Shop Squeeze Grape Jelly,&nbsp;Instant Oatmeal,&nbsp;Sliced Peaches,&nbsp;Pasta Sauce,&nbsp;Pasta,&nbsp;Shop Mac and Cheese,&nbsp;Diced Tomatoes, and Black Beans.</p>

<p><strong>Leonard Morse Grants Panel of the MetroWest Health Foundation:&nbsp; </strong>awarded NSC a $25,000 grant for NSC&rsquo;s proposed &ldquo;Living Well Project&rdquo;. &nbsp;The Living Well Project builds upon NSC&rsquo;s existing Behavioral Health Screening &amp; Intervention program and focuses on behavioral health concerns of older adults in Natick.&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Boston Scientific Foundation:&nbsp; </strong>a $20,000 grant was awarded to support NSC&rsquo;s Case Management Program.&nbsp; NSC&rsquo;s case management program provides direct (and advocates) human &amp; social services programs 600+ Natick families.</p>
<p><strong>Trustees of Foundation for MetroWest: </strong>a $5,000 grant was awarded to NSC in support of our Case Management Program.&nbsp; The award further supports NSC&rsquo;s Case Management program and direct Human Services Programs offered to our clients.</p>
<p><strong>Brack Family Fund of the Foundation for MetroWest:&nbsp; </strong>a $5,000 grant was awarded to NSC in support of our 50 year mission of serving less fortunate citizens of Natick.&nbsp; The award helps support NSC programs, specifically our&nbsp;housing, utilities,&nbsp;and home heating programs.</p>
<p><strong>Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation:</strong>&nbsp; The Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation awarded NSC a $10,000 grant to support NSC's Food Pantry operations.&nbsp; We're grateful to be the recipient of such a generous donation from an organization that generously supports NSC in many ways.&nbsp; The grant award&nbsp;supports hundreds of Natick Families in need of supplemental&nbsp;fruits, vegetables, dairy and lean meats.&nbsp; Thank you Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation!</p>
<p><strong>Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation, Middlesex Savings Bank, &amp; Mass Bankers Association:&nbsp; </strong>The Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation nominated NSC to the Mass Bankers Association (MBA) and was awarded a $1,500 grant to support our Food Pantry programs.&nbsp; Both Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation and Middlesex Bank matched MBA&rsquo;s gift ($1,500), resulting in a total award of $4,500.&nbsp; A special thanks goes out to Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation&rsquo;s Dana Neshe, Paul Totino, and Arnold Zaltas for nominating NSC for these awards!</p>

<p>It was a tremendously festive and caring event and NSC, along with all of our clients, are extremely grateful for the genoristy&nbsp;of our great Home of Champions!&nbsp;It was simply another fabulous community event!</p>
<p>Special thanks to NSC Case Managers Amy Van Ermen and Kathie Fair Chandley for their exhaustive work putting all the gift boxes together and coordinating the pickups and deliveries.&nbsp;</p>
<p>NSC is also very grateful to St. Linus Church and Donna MacIntosh for hosting the Holiday drive once again this year.&nbsp; They are the best!</p>

<p>The <strong>2nd Annual Jingle Bell Run</strong> was a HUGE SUCCESS!&nbsp; Well <strong>over 500 runners</strong> took part in the 2 mile Jingle Bell Run, which&nbsp;<strong>raised over $5,600 dollars</strong> to support Natick Service Council programs and services.</p>
<p>A special thanks goes out to all Natick residents who participated, especially&nbsp;<strong>Colleen Phelps</strong> and <strong>Kathy Landry</strong> (and their army of volnteers!) for their tireless efforts in organizating the event.</p>
<p>A special thanks also&nbsp;to&nbsp;the <strong>Natick Police Chase Team</strong> as well as<strong> Joe Gagliardi at</strong> <strong>Coach &amp; Carriage Auto Body</strong> for inviting Santa Claus and&nbsp;his (rolling) sleigh!&nbsp;</p>

<p>Once again this year, the Rotary Club supported our annual Thanksgiving Food Basket program.&nbsp; They also recently held their&nbsp;Annual Holiday gathering and collected several large boxes full of children's toys for&nbsp;<strong>NSC's Annual Holiday program</strong>.</p>
<p>With the Rotary Club's generous financial and hands-on support,&nbsp;NSC expects to deliver over <strong>400 holiday gifts</strong> to Natick children, teens, and elders.&nbsp; The Natick Rotary also helps deliver these gifts!</p>
